Say what you want about the competition we've faced in two of the the three games so far, however its still a first for our football team in nearly a decade. Typically we play a few average teams and one tough game at the beginning of the year, (FSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Kansas State, Florida) When we couldn't take the big game we usually did a fair job taking down the scrubs, and when we did win the big game we usually found a way to blow an easy game early. FAU and SSU do not count as games for me so the next three games will be big for Golden I believe. Wins against USF, Georgia Tech, and a tough away game on a thursday night in Chapel Hill will let us know how focused Al has these players and how much improved we really are over the last two years.

We have a legitimate opportunity to roll up to Doak Campbell at 7-0 with national title hopes with some luck (although I think this team isn't quite ready for that talk yet). We should be favored in each of the next four games. USF next week was manhandled by McNeese state and lost to FAU who we dominated. Georgia Tech and UNC games will be interesting and I hope we come prepared and motivated so we don't blow another potentially great season on lowly teams (i.e. the '04 season losing to clemson and UNC during the regular season), but either way we should be seen as consider favorites for both teams, with georgia tech looking more and more one dimensional and UNC losing their entire offense in Bernard last year and being unable to stop the run. Wake is a given imo, they are miserable.

Huge hopes for the season gentleman, and thats not something we could say at this point in the season the last 10 years! #gocanes

I'm still very concerned about the offense. with Morris missing most of this game, we still haven't found an identity or any rhythm

we need them to step up in a big way. in particular the passing game has looked pathetic when it was lights out last year. I'm not sure Coley has a good feel for the pro passing concepts. too much BS WR screens and bootlegs

I am very concerned we could not put up 90 points...and that we let SSU score. We might need to start looking for a totally new coaching staff
