Morris- jury is still out. Could have a great senior year, showed flashes and major upside as well as brash inconsistencies. Drops havent helped his matters either.

The runningbacks - thought i would see more by committee this year. Shocks me that clements pre-injury didnt get more carries and surprising that crawford hasnt gotten burn. James looks better than last year but still an average back. Duke johnson is sensational and could very well be talked about in the heisman race in the coming years. Havent seen a back like duke in 10 years.

The oline- protectors of the qb. We have a huge oline and i dont understand why we cant get more push on running plays. When we do get push we run the ball very well. If henderson comes back (doubtful) we will be returning an experienced line all around next year. Flowers pt this year should be significant in his progression.

Receivers- Scott, hope you get this stuff behind you because your going to be a good one. Scott is what I wanted Laron Byrd to be. Most upside of all receivers and least experienced. Dorsett is always open, he just doesnt look natural when he plays the ball in the air which is worrisome. Ol reliable hurns is still reliable. Waters, lewis will provide exactly what we need them to next year.

Offense as a whole- upside, upside, upside. Receivers catch balls and morris finds touch we are the best offense in the acc next year. Missed oppertunities and obscure situational playcalling/lack of execution at pivotal times has cost us dearly. Growing pains?

Defensive line- more upside here. Porter has to stay healthy. Hes our best dt by far. Pierre is really emerging and looks the part. If we dont get some juco at tackle we are in big trouble depth wise. Chickillo, man, tough year but you got a ways to go. Cant see him not improving with all his exp. mccord will be a pass rusher to fear with some weight. End is another position in dire need of depth and experience. JUCO!!!

Linebackers- eddie johnson, denzel, paul, kirby, should be one of the best corps around if they can stay on the field. Not worried.

Secondary- youngest secondary ever. Only time will tell but bush, howard, gunter, jenkins all look to be improving and should have positions locked down next year. Finnie really needs to stel it up and rodgers needs to graduate.

Defense as a whole- worst miami defense ever with talent, albeit young, all over the field. Defense has been our achilles heel all year long and sadly, coach d isnt going anywhere and they arenr changing the scheme. The scheme can work, but if it doesnt by game 6 next year, golden needs to get rid of d or im off the golden wagon. (Like that matters to him).

That being said, 6-6 or 7-5 seems right to me and was the general thought at seasons birth. Noone needs to be axed, but if we dont win 8 or 9 next year, something is horribly wrong.

I've always felt like the Morris critiques were way too harsh. Kid has definitely done his part. If it weren't for Morris we're sitting at 3-7 instead of 5-5

I'm a bit worried about the loss of Mike James next if we dont pick up an impact recruit. Can't say enough how much he has meant to this offense. You likely will see RB by committee next yr out of necessity.

Agreed that the jury is still out on Morris. If Jacory can turn it around than I'm hopeful Sm can as well. He was definitely showing the sorely missed "touch" on saturday on his longer passes, whereas in the past he was almost always winging it for kingdom come.

With everyone back we should take the Coastal in two wks.

Morris looked like chit against K-State, Bethune, UNC, FSU, ND. Looked good against BC, NCST, GT, UVA, VT. He is what he is.

The loss of james will hurt in some ways but im not worried about the runningback position. We always get runningbacks. I wont be surprised when we haul in a coveted rb prospect by signing day whether it be collins, green, or any other runningback doing things.

Miami returns at least 19 of 22 guys next year and maybe 20 if Henderson decides to stay. Golden should win 9 games at minimum next year...

Good post, I agree with pretty much everything here. It's hard to look at the big picture when you're in the thick of a season, but this team is who we thought they would be, at least what I thought it would: a 7-5 team which will have ups and downs due to youth and inexperience. Turns out it was pretty much predictable and truthfully, it's been quite a ride but I think most of the young men have grown. That kind of loss to Virginia stings, but in the long haul, I hope it makes the guys hungrier and I truly believe it will.

How many teams I'll finish with a question: how many teams can still aspire to winning their division/conference and a grand total of 2 seniors on their starting lineup (offense and defense included) ?! My guess is not many, the future is bright gents.

He is as likely to turn the ball over as he is to create a touchdown. The kid is an average quarterback with a good arm and could maybe make a leap next year, although I am pretty skeptical.

He's an average quarterback with an ELITE NFL arm as Fisch referred to it.

Agree,

****, even radio won 9 games in year three. Not asking to much got Golden to do that.
