    Nwoko development

Julian was a big contributor toward the end of his UM career. Once he added that consistent medium range jump shot, his game improved exponentially. He's a great example of a player who actually developed a lot while at UM. He and Tonye Jekiri.

Exact same situation in the post as we were in last season. Walker was Norchad's prime substitute then, Casey now. Not much to choose between them. I was hoping, if nothing else, Nwoko would be very physical, provide some rim protection, and rebound. I expected his offense (like most bigs)...

Wonder what his "evaluation" consisted of? He flashed big time playing for the Canadian team in that U-18 tourney. But ... that coulda been an anomaly. I agree with your evaluation and would add to it the fact that he (like everyone else except Omier) plays with very little physicality.

And before that, he did it with Tonye Jekiri. Both of those guys needed a lot of development.

Ur right. Just saying we will hopefully have a better "read" on Nwoko by March than we do now. Assuming he gets PT, he'll have a whole ACC campaign behind him.

He needs to (1) relax out there on the court and, (2) gain and play with confidence. In that order. Let's see what we have in March before judging his ceiling.

Took time, but both Tonye Jekiri and Ebuka Izundu were bigs recruited and developed by Coach L and his staff. We sure could use either (in their Senior form) right about now. Hard to believe, off a Final Four appearance, we couldn't attract a finished product big man. I'm envious every time I...
