I don't think it's a factor. That conference now has teams from all over the country, with completely different fanbases, with no rhyme or reason. The only consideration of the Big 10 is money. The question is whether that league sees us as more lucrative than the next competitor.

It's pretty obvious that the B1G is a conference that cares only about coins. That's their calculation. You've got Oregon, USC, Northwester, Purdue, Maryland, and Rutgers in the same conference. Just hope they think we are a sufficient draw. Or, hope the $EC wants every last nook and cranny...

The only motivation is $. If X league believes Y team will be the more lucrative choice than Z team, they will get Y team. Without knowing the figures they are analyzing, the predictions are meaningless.

The ACC is a living, breathing organism.

They're just trying to force all the parties to the table. That's the only logical outcome all along. What I find troubling about the ACC is how little willingness they appear to have to actually go to bat for member institutions. It's as if they're cool with not trying to get a better deal...

ESPN is going to have to be brought into the case. I'd think the best possible outcome for the ACC would be to coax ESPN's hand to renegotiate a richer deal for the league. Their lawyers should be working toward that end. Nobody wants to try a case like this, and appeals could go on for ages...
