Xavier Restrepo has gone from underdog to established star, and it hasn’t slowed him down a bit. He met with reporters to discuss the offense and the Ball State game.
On Cam Ward: He's been doing the same thing ever since he's gotten in here. I think that's why we've been really successful, because we're not doing anything outside of what we’ve been doing since spring.
A very, very exceptional player. I think he's the best quarterback in college football. We love to have him on our offense.
On Isaiah Horton: Zay is a very, very dangerous receiver. He has all the attributes for a typical superstar. He's gotten a lot better maturing since he was a freshman. Every single opportunity he gets, he takes advantage of. I love playing next to Zay. I'm super excited when Zay's on the field. He’s a great human being as well.
On his mindset: I am very self-motivated. I'm also a God-fearing man, so I have tons of faith. I just try to stay positive and come to work every single day. To be able to get to do what we do is just amazing. I'm super excited that I've been chosen for this story. I'm just grateful each and every single day that I wake up.
On the potential for the offense: We don't have a ceiling. We are a very dangerous offense. We have a lot of great guys, ones and even twos and some threes. We’ve just got to keep on trying to better ourselves. We’re super excited to take the field every single day and try to find flaws in ourselves.
On Ball State: Very, very athletic physical guys. They have a great group of guys that have played a lot of football together and they fly around the field. I'm super excited to line it up on Saturday with Ball State. Another great opportunity versus a very, very good team.
