**Canes fans were once again questioning Josh Jobe’s commitment yesterday when he posted an Alabama picture. I warned months ago that he would continue to post these edits, but it would not mean anything about his pledge with Miami – that remains the case.
Checked in with a source very close to him today, who said that Jobe messaged him earlier today saying how excited and ready he was to get back down to Miami for good. He will be in town during Notre Dame week and plans on being at the Coral Gables campus throughout the week as well. As of now, it does not look like he will be able to enroll early at UM (which was not expected), but there is a good chance that he signs during the early period of December 20-22.
Jobe will be part of the official visitors group on December 16th weekend that the Miami staff has strategically designated for the Storm 18 class members. That will be their final pitch to prospects like Jobe and Nesta Silvera who have still not officially decided if they will sign early or wait until the normal first Wednesday in February.
**Today I posted the midseason highlights of 2020 RB Don Chaney, Jr. and with good reason. If you haven’t checked it out yet, he has all the makings of a 5-star prospect and top 15-type player in his class. Multiple sources have told me in the last week that Chaney, Jr. could be making a commitment in the near future – with the Hurricanes holding a solid lead. Chaney has been to nearly all of the Miami games this season and was out there with his father on Saturday for the Syracuse game.

**An update on the early enrollment status of the tight end class: Will Mallory, who was back in action last week after missing most of the season with injury, told me today that his school does not allow early enrollment so that is a no-go for him. His welcome back game was a monster performance that you can watch below.

Brevin Jordan, the Canes’ other tight end commit in the class, is also not allowed to enroll in January due to Bishop Gorman’s rules. Miami’ spring depth at the position will be an interesting topic of conversation considering Chris Herndon is graduating and Michael Irvin, Jr.’s status is currently in the air.
Both Jordan and Mallory are planning on signing during the December period, however.
**DT commit Nesta Silvera has turned up his play in a big way the last two games – with back-to-back 3 sack performances against Cardinal Gibbons and Jackson. He has 56 tackles and 7 sacks in 7 games this season. Silvera told me tonight that he also plans on being there for the December 16th weekend. Miami is attempting to get top defensive back target Tyson Campbell there for that weekend as well, which is very possible.
**Mike Harley is dealing with what can be categorized as a high ankle sprain – the severity of it remains to be seen. He will practice this week without contact and hopes to give it a go on Saturday. If the game was today, it would be unlikely that he played.
