We've been focused on the team for the past few weeks, but recruiting never stops. Here's the latest news from the class of 2025:

- I expect a lot movement in the class in the next few weeks. This group prioritizes senior film, so names are going to rise and fall.

- One name that isn't going anywhere- SJ Alofaituli (Las Vegas). He played his first game of the season last week, and a staffer told me it was "one of the most impressive OL game tapes he's ever seen." He may be an instant-impact contributor. A couple other commits standing out early: DE Herbert Scroggins ("Powerful, productive") and CB Jaboree Antoine (playing mostly QB but looking athletic and tough).

- There could be some good news on the way soon for Miami at WR. If it happens, it should go public in the next few days.

- Miami is trying to flip committed linemen. There are multiple in play, but one that's public is Alabama commit IOL Michael Carroll (IMG). Cristobal loves his tape and is taking an active role in the recruitment. Carroll visits this weekend.

- The Canes will continue to target committed DL like Derry Norris (Georgia Tech commit, visiting this weekend) and Hayden Lowe (USC commit). I heard speculation that Miami would drop DT commit Mykah Newton (Newberry) to make room for Norris, but that's false. Miami loves both and believes each is having a great senior year.

- Michigan is making a run at LB Gavin Nix (IMG), but the Canes are confident there.

- LB TJ Alford (Vero Beach) is back in communication and having a very good start to his senior year. He’s in the mix.

- There were some rumors about DL Akheem Mesidor after he missed a couple scheduled media sessions. He is completely fine and only missed because of scheduling conflicts. He'll be a captain on Saturday.

- Some young names who have looked good in practice and on tape: OL Frankie Tinilau, DB Dylan Day, LB Popo Aguirre and OT Samson Okunlola.

@DMoney any details on what happened with Elijah griffin no longer visiting? Is he expected at a later game?

Do they like Carroll more than Solomon Thomas? I know there was chatter they would continue to push for Thomas earlier this year but seems quiet there.

According to DMoney last night, the WR commit would not be a flip. Not saying we aren’t still in it for Moore but that this possible commit would not be a flip.
Must be a 26 kid as just about every 25 wr is already committed.

d$, I saw SJ play last week vs #1 Mater Dei. Thoughts:

*he’s a co-captain on a large and experienced OLine. He played RG next to a top RT who is committed to Tennessee.

*he’s stout with no excess weight.

*listed at 6’3”, 295, he looks a bit shorter than that.

*plays low with great leverage. Aggressive and very sound in his technique. Totally in control with a professional demeanor on every play. A leader.

*only concern is his height. Perhaps a center?

*biggest surprise? Mater Dei dominated the game in all phases. More physical with better skill players. The Gorman team lacks the explosive WRs from recent years, eg Zachariah Branch at USC and Rome Odunze now of the Bears

You are correct he's our future center
