The ATM (10/18)

Some quick hits:

- Miami still feels they are right in it for DT LJ McCray (Daytona Beach). While there is FSU buzz, they actually feel their biggest competition is Georgia. DT recruiting has been a struggle, so their instincts may be off. But, as chronicled in the Bank, they correctly dismissed the Zaquan-to-FSU smoke and always pegged Oregon as the real threat for Breland despite Georgia buzz.

- New big body name to keep an eye on 6’4, 330 DT D’Nas White (Charlotte, NC).

- Miami continues to make progress with RB Jordan Lyle (St. Thomas). He has an upcoming visit to Ohio State, but if he gets through that without anything unusual he becomes a major flip candidate.

- Elite CB Ellis Robinson (IMG) will be in Miami this weekend.

Update 10/18

- I continue to like where Miami is trending with OT Markel Bell (JUCO), CB Zavier Mincey (Daytona Beach) and CB Xavier Lucas (American Heritage).

- Another name to monitor at DT- Leroy Jackson (Leesburg, GA).

The new DT name should be telling. I'll assume McCray goes elsewhere and hopefully we pull a shocker somehow. My hope is tea leaves seem good with Mincey and that affects LJ, but teammates have no issues splitting up.

@DMoney are we at the point where the losses are starting to hurt us in recruiting? Would a loss to Clemson shut the door to recruits like Ellis Robinson or Jeremiah Smith?

Smith was never coming. Nothing has changed because of the Tech and UNC games.

Also this was always a 7 to 9 win team. There is a reason vegas has the win total like 7.5

Miami is right where most logical fans thought they would be at this point in the season.

People downplaying Ellis Robinson coming because he casually comes to Miami often I think have it wrong. Ellis has always made it openly clear that if Miami shows a good product on the field, he would be a serious flip candidate because Miami checks all the boxes for him. Now the "good product on the field" part is unknown right now. Losing to Clemson at home would virtually end any and all momentum IMO. You salvage the season with a Clemson win.

It is now mid October: this class still looks more like a Al Golden class than it does an elite class like Mario pulled last year.

Let’s see how we close…. Considering the recent Bank & ATM are starting to look dry as the Sahara it doesn’t appear it’s going to end well
