South Florida is always going to produce big-time backs. In addition to stars like Sony Michel and Dalvin Cook, you see guys like Devin Singletary (AMH- Delray) and Zack Moss (Hallandale) blossom at the next level.

This is an average local class, which means it is excellent by the rest of the country's standards.

* means verified testing numbers

Kenny McIntosh- 6’1, 216, 4.87* (University)- Fluid, big-bodied athlete who has been making plays on varsity since 8th grade. Rare “make-you-miss” ability at his size. Natural receiver. Brother of former Miami DT RJ McIntosh and former Notre Dame RB Deon McIntosh. Long-speed is only concern, but he consistently breaks big runs. Also has played a lot of safety and has big upside on defense.

Nay’Quan Wright- 5’8, 188, 4.63* (Carol City)- Local legend who has been on the radar since youth football. Was shot by stray gunfire during football practice as an 11-year-old, but overcame his wounds to become one of the top sophomores in the country. Missed his junior year with an ankle injury. Natural runner with a classic RB build and playmaker mentality. Hits home runs despite lack of elite speed. If healthy, he is capable of making an immediate impact on Power 5 team.

Daniel Carter- 5'10, 204* (St. Thomas Aquinas)- Strong, twitchy back that played well with an increased role last year. 954 yards (7.5 ypc) and 17 TDs. Hard runner. Texas, Kansas State, Pittsburgh and Utah are in the mix, among others.

Daniel Carter HL

Vincent Davis- 5’8, 165, 4.49* (Cardinal Gibbons)- Confident speedster who made some huge runs for Gibbons. 942 yards (7.2 ypc) and 11 TDs. Won the Fastest Man at the Miami Opening. Elite balance to break tackles despite small stature. Explosive (36 in VJ, 10.91 100M). Not just a one-dimensional burner- can catch and has toughness. Top-shelf back that is capable of putting up big numbers in the ACC (Pitt commit).

Vincent Davis HL

Ja’tarie Washington- 5’10, 188 (Pahokee)- Underrated player from the Muck with big talent. Extremely light on his feet, gliding running style. Can break tackles despite lean frame. 1,602 yards, 20 TDs. Offers from Louisville, Nebraska and Pitt. Half-brother of 2020 Louisville commit Latarie Kinsler.

Ja'tarie Washington HL

James Meeks- 5’8, 169* (Palm Beach Central)- Transfer who followed his QB, Gio Richardson, to PBC following the collapse of the Oxbridge program. Committed to join Richardson again at FAU. Shifty back who is also an excellent receiver. Not afraid to block. 689 yards, 5.1 ypc, 7 TDs.

James Meeks HL

Lexington Joseph- 5’7, 168, 4.59* (Central)- Quality runner that was part of a crowded Central backfield. Good feet navigating through traffic. Picked up offers from Marshall, UNLV and other FBS schools in spring. Tested well at Miami Opening (98.28 SPARQ). Can also play CB.

Lexington Joseph HL

Jacquez Stuart- 5’9, 159, 4.57* (Northwestern)- Track kid with excellent straight-line speed. 10.42 100M. One cut and go runner who fits best in a zone-based run game. Can also contribute on kickoff returns. Committed to Toledo.

Jacquez Stuart HL

Nigel White- 5’9, 154, 4.84* (STA)- Squatty, explosive player who runs like a true running back. Excellent feet and vision. Has a stiff-arm. More explosive (35 in VJ) and quicker (4.32 shuttle) than fast. Reminds me a bit of Jahkari Gore. Slight frame hurts his FBS projection. 439 yards, 5.9 ypc and 5 TDs as part of rotation.

Nigel White HL

Jacob Baptiste- 5’11, 180 (Northwestern)- Archbishop McCarthy transfer who produced against poor competition. Strong lower body to break tackles. Surprising feet. Lacks explosiveness and speed. Battled injuries as a junior, but had monster sophomore year (1,967, 8.4, 25 TDs). This year will be telling for him.

Jacob Baptiste HL

Lavelton Williams- 5'11, 220 (American Heritage)- Fort Lauderdale transfer looking to fill a void in the Patriots backfield. Big back who makes up for lack of speed with power and aggression. Will deliver a blow if you meet him head on. Plays Wildcat and has some receiving skills. Pitt offer.

Lavelton Williams HL

Lavonski Williams- 5’9, 190 (Pahokee)- Another back from a loaded Pahokee offense. Explosive, hard runner with 11.03 speed. Size may project better at defensive back.

Lavonski Williams HL

Tyler Jones- 5’7, 163, 4.62* (American Heritage)- Small, elusive back with good balance. Strong for his size and can make guys miss in short spaces. Not afraid of contact.

Tyler Jones HL

Willie Davis IV- 5’8, 189, 4.8* (Chaminade)- After splitting carries with James Cook, Amari Daniels and Lexington Joseph at Central, Davis decided to take his talent to Broward County. Short, bowling ball runner who is hard to knock off balance. Good first step and feet but not an explosive or fast player.

You forgot Jacquez Stuart current Toledo Commit out of MNW. Beast- fastest rb in south florida

Nayquan and Carter my Top 2.

I like Kenny as well, but I like the other two more.

Nayquan needs to be a take bc besides being a good S. Fl back and being from CC, he brings a certain street cred to the offense I think we've been lacking since maybe Duke was here. He's a park legend, and I'm telling you now, if he ends up going elsewhere (like say UGA), he will absolutely start/solidify a Dade pipeline to that school. Think Freeman when he went to FSU. Plus, again, he's not a bad back when healthy. At all.

No Stuart or T.Jones?

Yeah Stuart was a typo, forgot to transfer him over from the Word doc. Will add him when I’m back in front of the comp.

T. Jones is pretty good, needs to get bigger at 5’7. I’ll add him to OP since a couple people asked about him.

Head Case imho

Lot of talent in that group.

Nayquan an optomist legend and produced in high school. Daniel Carter is aggressive runner. Stuart and Davis are blazers. Then you got hard workers like Willie Davis who will produce if goes to the right program.

Skill wise ive liked Nayquan more than Mcintosh. But Mcintosh is a bigger back with unique skills. Even though i like him on defense more. If he commits im excited either way.
