Miami’s new staff under head coach Jai Lucas is getting busy in the transfer portal. This time, Miami is reaching out to a top-30 transfer prospect.
Chase Forte, a transfer from South Dakota, informed Sam Kayser on Twitter that he has been in contact with Miami's new coaching staff since entering the transfer portal. Forte is ranked as the No. 27 overall transfer in the 247 Sports Transfer Rankings.
In addition to the Hurricanes, he has also received interest from schools such as Boston College, Mississippi State, USC, Baylor, Wichita State, Kansas State, Georgia, Arizona State, and Ole Miss since entering the portal.
During the 2024-25 season, Forte averaged 17.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per game, starting in all 33 games for South Dakota. He shot 47.1 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from three.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound transfer was originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, and he was named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Year in the 2024-25 season.
