Here are some takeaways from Miami's 94-61 win over Saint Leo today:

Jalil Bethea’s Party has started despite getting thrown out of the game for a flagrant two-foul

Jalil Bethea fans didn't have to wait long to see him get coming in today's breakout game in the Watsco Center. Against Saint Leo, the Hurricanes’ top-rated freshman had a hot-shooting debut, making 3 out of 3 shots coming out of a timeout break within minutes. Bethea finished his debut night with 10 points, going 3-for-3 from the field goal.

Bethea found himself in a tussle for a loose ball and was subsequently ejected from the game for a flagrant two-foul.

Paul Djobet could see big-time playing time this season.

Today, the player who surprised me the most was Paul Djobet. Similar to Jalil, he entered the game after the media timeout and quickly sank a three-pointer from the right wing. He was the second-leading scorer on the team with 16 points.

Paul scored 6 points out of 8 attempts today, hitting 2 of 2 shots to achieve 100% accuracy from three-point range. He also recorded three rebounds and two assists.

Djobet could be a player who gains significant playing time if he performs like he did today against Saint Leo. His jumper was smooth, and he had been in the gym working on his shot.

Nijel Pack doing Nijel Pack stuff

Today was likely significant for Nijel Pack, who sustained an injury last season. Nijel was the leading scorer for tonight's game versus the Lions, with 18 points, three rebounds, and five assists.

Great to see him back out there!
