Simeon Barrow generated a lot of headlines when he flirted with re-entering the Portal this offseason. So far, it seems all sides are glad he stayed in Orange and Green. He met with reporters to discuss the season:

On his season so far: Things have been going great, man. I got great guys next to me. I got a great DC that's calling the right plays. I can see the results. We're just going to keep on working.

On the heat: I look like a different color than last time you see me, but I'm used to it now.

On the defensive tackle room: We’ve got dogs all around. We got Tyler Baron. We got EA (Elijah Alston). We got Mesidor. Bain’s coming back real soon. We got everything. We got CJ Clark. Marley Cook. Everything is going smooth right now.

We're going to keep on elevating our game. We're going to learn the defense a lot more and we're going to play a lot faster.

On Justin Scott: He's growing into a great player. He sits right between me and Mesidor. He’s always asking questions. He always wants to find something to get better at. I feel like he's going to be a great, great player in the future.

On the quick chemistry of the DL: There are a lot of experienced people and they know what it takes to be great. We all had the same mindset. We learned each other and learned how each other played so we could play faster with each other. So I'm not really surprised. I feel like we knew what we were coming into and we knew how to work off of it.

On Tyler Baron: He's a dog. He's a student of the game. Every meeting, he’s asking the questions. He's asking JT great questions. He's a student of the game, and that's the biggest thing.

The team is playing with a different type of focus this year and a lot of that is due to the fact of the Leadership at QB plus let's be honest they brought in some mature guys who want to win.

It's been stated a bunch before but man what a huge year for our programs future this is. Making the playoffs this year could truly set us up for a decade or more to be competitive. The culture finally appears to be taking hold with our guys and everyone really seems to be bought in to what is going on. It's going to be REALLY hard to say no to Mario and this staff as a recruit or transfer moving forward. Could not have asked for a better start to the year, just gotta keep this train rolling!

@DMoney ... anything to a rumor that Messidor is having some issues with the staff? Possibly regarding where he is playing etc while he gets back into game shape? Read a comment on TOS.

Mario has done a GREAT job of getting the transfers to buy into his culture.

They are all preaching from the same playbook.

Should bode well for us all….except the MOPES🙌
Also, these guys know it's show time which comes right before show me the $$$ time

Wouldn't be surprised, someone has to get the short end of stick and do dirty work inside taking on double teams and such, while fans talk **** and say he not producing like baron or whoever else..

Alston and baron have played outside majority and bain was also outside, I would imagine it's mentally and physically tough especially if u not getting any reps outside (remember this was issue at wvu) not saying it is or not but tea leaves are there

We been trying to say that. Next step needed but the players LOOK and SOUND legit.

It’s not going to be easy but this mix of players has what it takes.

Money talks…
Always has… The difference is now $ is more apparent. Miami had to do more $illy $h*t while being unable to compete with straight CA$H from powerhouse programs.

Now we don’t NEED/WANT Nevin Shapiro types.

They will always be around in Miami but he is trying to find kids that realize all of that short term pleasure isn’t Worth the long term gain they can achieve here.
