In today’s weekly press conference, Offensive Coordinator Shannon Dawson provided analysis of his team's recent performances, emphasizing resilience, strategy, and individual growth.

Resilience and Determination from Emory Williams

Dawson highlighted the sheer willpower and resilience of freshman quarterback Emory Williams, who was injured on the final drive of the game for the Canes. Reflecting on another play, he said, "there was one of the scoring drives we had a third and six, and he ran over a guy for a first down." This play was emblematic of the team's determination to stay in the game against the Noles.

Quarterback's Poise Under Pressure

Dawson praised his quarterback's ability to handle intense game situations. "His feet are in the end zone right, and he showed pocket presence was great," Dawson remarked, emphasizing the quarterback's composure under pressure and his effective leadership on the field. He also commended Williams’ throw to Jacolby George on the goal line for a score.

Van Dyke’s Professionalism

Dawson was impressed by quarterback Tyler Van Dyke’s professionalism after being benched and readiness to step in when needed. He noted, "It's not the first time this has ever happened in the history of football... I thought he handled it great," underscoring the importance of being prepared for any situation.

Jacolby George's Stellar Growth

Wide receiver Jacolby George's development throughout the season hasnot go unnoticed, especially after his big game against FSU on Saturday. Dawson commented, "He's become a really steady player... he's made a lot of big plays." He emphasized George's significant contributions and his evolving role as a key player in the team.

Tactical Insights and Decision-Making

Dawson also delved into the tactical aspects of the game, particularly during high-pressure moments like the two-minute drill. "They can cover pretty good, you know... we missed on a couple back shoulders to Colbie (Young)," he explained, shedding light on the team's last drive of the game..

Maintaining Positivity Amidst Challenges

Dawson stressed the importance of maintaining a positive outlook, even in the face of adversity. "This game will beat the life out of you if you let it. Don't let it," he advised, emphasizing the need for resilience and a focus on the positives.

Learning from Experience

The coordinator spoke about learning from every game and using experiences to improve. "There's regrets in every situation, you know... that's the reality of the sport."

They don't know how to run a two minute drill. I scream at the TV every game wondering if they even look at the clock ticking down. ZERO sense of urgency. There isn't any learning, only regressing and ZERO planning to overcome the turnover machine that is our quarterback who should be golfing.

He's coaching; doing everything he can to not erode QB Room confidence any worse than it is. X had a difficult day, it happens, but he didn't prop him up. As Williams was struggling to complete a pass, and TVD was benched on the sideline I was thinking we may have lost both Qs.

It's madness. Obviously the crap qb play is hampering us a ton, but there is absolutely 0 excuse for lack of TE utilization or the weekly drop-off in overall scheme creativity. The O has completely cratered post UNC game.
Actually GT set the blueprint ....

That last sentence is just fat out bizarre considering the fact that there is no evidence whatsoever that Dawson has learned and improved from any of these losses or bad offensive games. He just keeps doing the same thing over and over again apparently expecting a different result each time. That sounds like the very definition of insanity to me.

I do want to know where motion went in this O
This offense has zero imagination
I just watched Oregon Sat night and they are running their RB from slot on jet sweep etc…to offer variety and challenge the D wide

We only run inside zone

No pre snap movement since TAMU

It’s just strange….where did it go????

We make it hard for every yard playing in a phone booth….teams like Oregon make it look easy all the time

Amazing our playbook shrank as the season goes on instead of expanding like every other team in america. Every week teams have something new to show against us. This has to be a practical joke on us fans, a prank show or we are just cursed. Not sure WTF has been going on with our offense ever since Jed Fisch was OC.

how do you go from scoring 40 plus points per game, when you are implementing the playbook, to scoring less points when you finish implementing the playbook>

Get this Louisiana swamp creature out of my sight.

This is a man who is out of answers.

Dude is Cheeks!!! There is no way you can come back with him next year running this **** offense.
