Pro Canes Update: Week 1

Welcome back to another year of the Pro Canes update. Here’s what happened in week one of the NFL season.

Duke Johnson carried the ball five times for 14 yards before getting injured. Frank Gore got six carries for 24 yards and Travis Homer got three carries.

At receiver, KJ Osborn and Braxton Berrios got starts on their respective return units.

Jimmy Graham had three catches for 25 yards and a touchdown while David Njoku had three catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. Chris Herndon had six catches for 37 yards. Greg Olsen rounds out the tight ends with four catches for 24 yards and a score.

Ereck Flowers, Brandon Linder, and Tyree St. Louis all got playing time along the offensive line.

Calais Campbell recorded one tackle while Olivier Vernon chipped in two along the defensive line.

Denzel Perryman earned three tackles and a forced fumble in his season opener.

In the secondary, Rayshawn Jenkins and Corn Elder each recorded a tackle.

Michael Badgley was three for four on kicks with a long of 43. Pat O’Donnell punted five times for a total of 213 yards, an average of just over 42 yards per punt.
