The 100th season of the NFL is underway and, as you might expect, there are Miami Hurricanes littered all across the league. In this weekly article, I am going to recap the NFL week in regards to the Miami alums in the pros. This is week 1 of the ‘Pro Canes Update’.

**It was a slow week for Miami running backs. Frank Gore began his 15th NFL season but ran for just 20 yards. Mark Walton had 1 carry and totaled just 1 yard. Duke Johnson was the one bright spot here. Duke carried the ball 9 times for 57 yards and also caught 4 passes for 33 yards during his Monday night Texans debut.

**At receiver, Allen Hurns had 1 catch for 22 yards, Travis Benjamin recorded 2 receptions for 12 yards, and Braxton Berrios had a 10-yard return, but the star of the week was Phillip Dorsett. Dorsett hauled in 4 catches for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns.

**TEU was on full display the first night of the NFL season as Jimmy Graham scored the first touchdown of the year, along with 30 yards on 3 catches. David Njoku and Greg Olsen also performed well on Sunday. Njoku had 4 catches for 37 yards and a score while Greg Olsen snatched 4 catches for 36 yards.

**On the offensive line, Jon Feliciano, Seantrel Henderson, Brandon Linder, and Erick Flowers all started for their respective teams.

**On the defensive line, Allen Bailey, Calais Campbell, and RJ McIntosh all had a couple of tackles. Al-Quadin Muhammad had 2 tackles and 1 sack.

**LB Thurston Armbrister recorded 1 tackle for the Cardinals.

**In the secondary, Rayshawn Jenkins had 2 tackles and Artie Burns had 1. Sheldrick Redwine made his NFL debut and had 1 tackle.

**As for the specialists, Matt Bosher and Pat O’Donnell continue to boom punts.

Golden’s OL all in the league, smh. Dorsett the most ****ed of anyone about the AB deal. So happy for him he got to show what he could do before taking a back seat to a tool.Duke and Watson did some work together last night. Duke can block too.

I keep wondering how we have all these OL starters in the NFL but I never felt like we had a good line under Golden...

Not sure if it's known or not, but Andre Johnson is on the Texans staff - as special adviser to the coach. Pretty cool for him.

All those OL kids were solid. Shane McDermott wasn’t a bad college center, either. It’s so frustrating that we squandered those rosters with bad coaching and quite possibly the worst DC and defensive scheme among the Power 5 conferences.

Our offense was never really the issue with Golden.
