7/20 Bank Podcast

Focus on stuff that wasn't in the written version

Potential of Commits

  • Franklin and Patterson are NOT silently commited.
  • I like Miami for Kam Franklin
  • Patterson, if he was the next commit for Miami, it would not surprise me

McCoy

  • It was never at the point where it was a done deal.
  • Miami likes him, will take him in a heartbeat
  • Up to McCoy, he's still a Nole commit

EPL
  • Lot of speed and very athletic
  • Perception is we whiffed and picked up communication but he's always been high on the board.
  • Miami likes him at both G and C

Ahfua

  • Trusts Cristobal and Mirabal
  • History w/Sewell and current evidence w/Mauigoa playing a big role here too
  • Miami leads here, but he's visiting

Cole

  • Rohan playing a big role here, great relationship
  • Miami further along than w/Breland
  • Discussion of UGA accepting commits from other LBs
  • Could be a near term commit, could stretch this out

Breland

  • Has no public timeline
  • Mario his first offer, great relationship
  • D$ favorite DT this cycle
  • Several teams in play here.

Stewart

  • #1 overall player on the board
  • If he wanted to go to O$U, he'd be there already
  • This is going to be a slugfest

Jones

  • Gator boards spreading lies and rumors. Miami not concerned about grades or weight

Washington

  • Pete says he'd be a nasty nickel corner

CWH

  • Covered Trader at camp. Looked great at CB. High potential here.
  • Miami loves him. Eyeballs are BIG after seeing him at camp.

Smith & Wingo

  • D$ says Smith & Wingo are the top two WR in the nation
  • Both are firmly in play
  • If Miami plays well offensively, one or BOTH could come.
  • Feels better about Smith than Wingo

Smith

  • If Smith was that committed to O$U, he would't be doing the things he's doing
  • Smith as good as he's seen since Andre
  • Better than Innis, more explosive
  • He's flirting too much, Miami needs to give him a reason
  • If Miami has an a Lashlee like leap in offensive, predicting Smith to Miami.

Q&A

Next Commit

  • Probably Patterson. If not him, then Franklin

Safety
  • Isaiah Thomas is a MAJOR, blue chip stud. Expect him to play like a 4*

CB Board

  • The CB Board is not huge, this is why the Heyward is critical decision
  • Heyward (Top 100 player)
  • Mack (low ceiling, high floor)
  • OJ Frederique (high upside, wildcard)

Graves

  • Has all the skills/tools
  • Preparation is the key
  • Staff couldn't trust him

Josh Horton

  • Miami super excited, lot of upside

Season

  • If Miami wins 9-10 games, we'll have a Top 5 class

Capers

  • Local reports not great, tweener
  • UL a good spot for him
  • Many big schools passing on him

Jamari Howard

  • Has not played enough football to eval
  • Big schools waiting to eval, every school in the county will be after him if he has a great year in Central

@Rellyrell brought this up, but its definitely past time to raise some questions about Addae's recruiting. We've had a number of people interact w/him during the recruiting process and provide negative feedback. Combine that w/ @Cribby mentioning that last year, only DVD and Mario were pulling their weight in recruiting. I was surprised that he was retained. Could the reason he's still on staff be his coaching ability?

CB board is concerning...isn't Heyward is a safety???

Coach Joe
Coach Addae

Both need to be replaced at this point given where they are with recruiting. Mario can’t do all of this **** alone.

CB has plagued this program for fifteen years, which is unreal considering what’s surrounds us.

This goes back to having to take that Wake transfer because we literally didn’t even have enough bodies.

That’s a wild update/podcast

There’s program changing talent littered across our board right now

I’ve said it a few times this off-season but this is the most important season in decades, if not my entire life watching this team

Sounds hyperbolic I’m sure, but this program is at a bit of a crossroads when it comes to people investing big into the future and we’ve got to show everyone, investors/current players/recruits etc top to bottom that we are on the right track

crazy how there's not enough tape to evaluate but the dweebs that control the rankings have him as a consensus top 100 player top 10 CB

make it make sense

Looks like because of potential, recruiting rankings are similar to the draft. Seems like there is always someone that does well in the combine setting and has there stock elevated through the roof. Sometimes it's a winner sometimes it's a bust.

Remember when Barney shocked everyone and committed to Nebraska? @Udynasty said that we shouldn't continue to pursue him, higher priorities elsewhere (one of which being McCoy) but couldn't go into specifics in a public forum. Well, based on today's bank, we know at least two of those higher priorities.

This has been my confidence level for 2-3 weeks. No inside info but the general vibe and based on what I’ve been reading and following the site and my minimal experience following recruiting for several years.

- Kam Franklin is about 70-75% us and about 20-25% TN. He is a big time player at an important position so watch for bags.
- Cole is about 65% us and 35% several others. Still testing the water.
- Patterson was 80% us - than 70% us - than 60% us - but now back in the 75% range since Trader committed.
- I would rate my confidence level at Smith a negative if possible. We have to shoot our load but we haven’t hit on the #1 WR in FL or the country in a decade plus. Taint will likely be a playoff team. And Marvin Harrison Jr is a legit top 3 overall in the draft.
- I was searching for an hour trying to find who that Louisville LB commit was. Capers. No opinion there - I was just trying to figure it out. So thank you for reminding me.

It would be a massive haul to land these three. We will see what happens. Buckle up.
