Thought @DMoney was going to mention Willie Williams as one of the fast LB’s to be on Greentree. At least for the extremely short time that he was here.

If ya think Willie was fast (which he was) you should've seen Darrin Smith...
Yeah. Darrin was supposedly a legit 4.4-4.5 at the U. I do remember one game while at the Cowboys when Butch, the DC, called a defense with Darrin on Jerry Rice, who probably had a slower 40. Rice still beat Darrin deep for a TD.

Still, Darrin was one of those underrated south Florida kids who became a superb college and NFL player.

We had another fast LB who was a backup I think on the 2000-1 teams. Was it Darryl McClover who also ran a legit 4.5? We had recruited those twins around that time, but I think that it was McClover who was very fast and a career backup, yet he was good enough to play in the NFL. And we had a pretty fast group of LBs in 2001, I think.

During the era of 'the Bermuda Triangle', Miami rarely, if ever, went into a nickel defense. They just left all three linebackers(Barrow, Smith, Armstead) out there to cover, even against run-and-shoot Houston, Smith was running step for step with their receivers down the field

the weaver twins! man, I remember how hyped they were as recruits out of Northwestern, but they had the misfortune of playing behind Vilma and DJ Williams. I believe one was in an accident and the other bounced around the league for a few years.

Can we expect another pre-game pump special? I recall the one you did prior to ND that got me beyond hyped, attended the game and was not disappointed. Attending this one as well and can't help but feel the same energy.
