The Canes doubled up on Orlando area basketball converts with the signing of 6’6, 320 lbs. Demetrius Campbell of Orlando Christian Prep. Like his future teammate Jaden Wilkerson, he is a converted hooper with an intriguing combination of size and athleticism.
Campbell has two siblings who played college basketball and he played AAU with #1 hoops prospect Cooper Flagg in Maine. He is a surprisingly aggressive run blocker for someone transitioning from the hardwood. The staff believes his biggest improvement area is the weight room, where they can help him the most. Campbell chose Miami over Syracuse, Ole Miss, UCF and Rutgers.
