This kid, and others who hold out till the last minute for a big pay day, are the main ones who transfer out after a year or two when they don’t get the playing time(or $$) their “camp” thinks they deserve. I’m not mad at anyone, I just prefer to have serious Miami people around the program like Duke and Francis Mauigoa who commit early and stuck with their word…

I wish this kid, and every kid for that matter, the best always but that’s my opinion.
well first of all this is the one and only time he will have to experience this and it started for him in August or September . So yea some kids do commit early but most of them had their offers way earlier so miss my son with that bull ****. he put in the work so he has every right to take his time. like I said u internet folks are hilarious. have a seat somewhere

I'm sure you've seen this as you've posted in the past, but we have a number of Internet Tuff Guys who like to talk about stuff they don't understand.

I don't get the outrage if it was any of our sons, than we will want him to do what he feels is best for him and his family. I love Miami too, but there's nothing wrong with a kid weighing his decisions to make sure he's making the best decision for his life! It's a business at the end of the day.

You don’t want to do this man, it’s not worth it. You’re brave as it is coming to a fan message board but you gotta expect harsh opinions and trolls. Not worth the stress to get into it with any of these idiots on here. Just my 2 cents having seen it with my son in baseball recruiting.

wasn't planning on getting into anything I just said what I said and Im past it. Just clarifying the obvious. if has paid any attention to my sons story he would know why he is waiting.

Also cracks me up everyone puts on a different front about certain recruits when they know there’s a parent posting on the board lol.

Ha! Not me. I was in President's 100, I was rush chair for my fraternity, I love showing my friends and family around UM, and I love my alma mater.

But we do have some posters who think this is like NFL free agency, it's "all about the money" and there are no other considerations.

I roomed with, tutored, and was friends with many UM athletes from 1986-1996. A lot may have changed over the years, but there are a lot of challenges that have remained the same for decades. Having to pick a university when every coach and every player and every host is kissing your tail-end...can be very difficult.

I'm just a fan. But I have been tracking Miami recruiting since the message boards and recruiting film/video highlights started to become a thing back around 2000. And I can tell you that there are certain guys on here who are as good at evaluating talent as any of the coaches we've had since then. All of them unanimously want your son to be a Cane the moment his offer dropped and we saw his highlights.

KW Jr. should take as long as he wants, he earned the recognition and the experience. Those of us who follow this know he's doing it in all the right ways, and we are super hopeful he's a Cane in the end.

Don’t like it. Should be able to handle both - this will surely be used as a negative recruiting tool, particularly by top tier programs showing that they can prioritize during each and every available recruiting period AND produce on Saturday.

I do however trust Mario when it comes to recruiting. He’d just better make sure we get the win Saturday, otherwise this move will blow up in a major way

Any chance we could have one of these locked?

I may be in the minority here, but it's a bad look for the Staff.

Recruiting happens all the time. You aren't shutting down practice here to prep for an undefeated Miami team against an undefeated FSU team fighting to see who's going to be conference champs. It's Wake Forest. If your program is THAT distracted that you can't stomp the life out of 4-6 Wake, who got obliterated by Ole Miss and Clemson and gave up 41 to Louisiana, then this program has much bigger issues.

It's not the visit postponement itself that's the issue. It's the timing of the move and the upcoming ESD. If a player did the same to the staff this close to ESD, fans would be all over the kid. There's people on staff dedicated to recruits.

As long as they fix the defense. What's the problem.

Obviously, I hope Kellen picks Miami, but whatever school he picks, I wish him and your family all the best! Also wish your daughter all the best as she embarks on her military career...26-year vet myself. It's refreshing to see parents support their children and allow them to pursue their dreams...kudos to you and your family.

Oh absolutely, but I'm changing the locks if he chooses any team other than Miami.

You wouldn't see me sat in the stands in College Station wearing a Texas A&M jersey with OldhamA jr #0 on the back. ;)

Miami can't win here - if they don't take this game serious they get criticised.

I think it's a bad idea to cancel an official visit so late, but I've no problem with them being locked in on their next ACC opponent - this conference lives to cannibalise itself.
