Miami secured its center of the future with the commitment of Jacksonville (Bolles) OL JJ Sparks.

The 6’3.5, 300-pounder chose the Canes after visiting Coral Gables this past weekend with his family. He’s previously visited Florida State.

The staff prioritized Sparks after seeing him on the road in January. Coach Mirabal values his nastiness, twitch and IQ at the center position.

Sparks, who has started since his freshman year at the North Florida powerhouse, is a big body who plays with an edge and shows good foot quickness to mirror and in open space.

He joins QB Dereon Coleman, RB Javian Mallory, OL Ben Congdon, OL Joel Ervin, CB Camdin Portis, CB Jaelen Waters, and LB Jordan Campbell in Miami’s 2026 class.

Lol

Lol I never heard of this guy and we have about 20 guys on our o-line board. Why take Sparks
That's what I'm saying. I don't know this kid he could be the next Jason Kelce just seems out of the blue. Is he a G or C?

For real we got Ryan Merritt, Pickett, Kolojay, Carr and several other high caliber interior guys before I would even think about Sparks

lol. I mean If we are really able to get to 105 scholarships, I have no problem filling the back of the roster with a guy like this. At the end of the day we need a big OLine HS class, and his commitment would change exactly 0% about who we are recruiting at the top of our board. Maybe he won't stay committed if we end up landing a Cantwell/Pepe/Kolojay/Pickett/etc... but that's would be irrelevant if that were to happen lol
