Mark Richt announced this morning after practice that center Nick Linder would be sitting the season out to train and focus on finishing his degree before going the graduate transfer route after the season.

Linder was battling for the center job with Tyler Gauthier and freshman Corey Gaynor. Sources say Gauthier had pushed out in front for the first team unit with Gaynor coming on strong and vying to be part of Miami's 7-deep on the line.

Linder was UM's starting center for the 2015 season and for most part of last year before a shoulder injury ended his season.

Miami's projected offensive line this season is LT Kc McDermott, LG Trevor Darling, C Tyler Gauthier, RG Navaughn Donaldson, RT Tyree St. Louis.

first thought was that it was a hoe move, but I realized he's a senior and it's now or never in regards his career ... good luck

Remove all weakness now, the team will be better for it.

So basically Linder was running 3rd at C behind Gauthier and a true freshman. Sucks *** for depth but if he wasn't going to crack the top 8, so be it.

So the top two reserves are Gaynor and Herbert?

Why can't he play, get his degree, and then go the grad transfer route?

just guessing but maybe he figured he wouldn't get a whole lot of PT anyway this year and didn't want to risk injury in garbage time so he just said "***** it."

If he plays then his four years are up.

He could probably latch on at FIU, FAU, or one of the other F_U's in 2018.

He only has one year left of eligibility. So if he stays on the team this year, then he's done with college football period

Heres why this is a puss move.. Kehoe gave this kid a ship because of the make up of the kid and his family.. we all were ok with it.. didnt have many major offers.. and now hes going to diss the program (4 weeks until game day) after we gave him a life line... **** that
