Darian Stephenson, originally class of 2016 from Westminster Christian, is transferring from Navy to Miami as a preferred walk-on and enrolls next week.

Stephenson had multiple D1 offers before a knee injury in the summer heading into his senior season.

He tore his ACL at FIU camp, which caused programs to lose some interest. Stephenson was a versatile LB prospect that a few major staffs (including Miami) were planning to track during his senior year before that injury.

One day, just one day, I hope one of these walk on guys is our Baker Mayfield / Hunter Renfrow and just balls out to become legendary.

From a transfer perspective, Adrian Colbert was as good as anyone could have ever reasonably imagined. It looks like he'll be in the NFL for a while. Brock Berlin was a great transfer for us as well. From a walk-on perspective, Santana and Joaquin... there are your legends.

He wasn’t a walk on. He was great for us and will be nice in the NFL but Baker and Renfrow are legends in their programs forever. That’s what I’m talking about.

Believe it or not, Navy does not have a single DT listed on their roster - they're all shown as DEs and are relatively underweight (heaviest being in the 280-290 range).

Albert Bentley, circa first National Championship and nice NFL career.

How did he get Navy to release him?

Some of you are ridiculous. Is Miami going to be counting on this kid to be an impact player? No.

But it is news of a roster transaction so I am going to report it. Nothing more, nothing less
