The University of Miami Hurricanes released Friday afternoon that they will honor the 1989 Miami Hurricanes squad for the 35th anniversary of their national championship.
The 1989 team featured 15 future NFL players led by Craig Erickson and Russell Maryland. They finished with an 11-1 overall record and a national championship.
Roland Smith, who is currently part of the Miami recruiting team, will serve as the honorary captain for the game.
