Miami wants Jackson's Flowers at WR or S

Miami Jackson QB Quinton “****y” Flowers doesn’t have much else to prove at the high school level, but he’s not using that as an excuse to slack off during spring practice. He’s been focused on improving his connection with transfer receiver Jovon Durante (2015) as well as continuing to work on his quarterbacking skills.

“Spring’s going good. We got a couple of players that came in and I’m trying to get everything down with Jovon (Durante). Most colleges look at me as a receiver or free safety, but just like I said to everybody else, I’m going to college to play quarterback because I’ve been playing it all my life so why go to the next level to play something else. Ain’t nobody gonna change that of me,” said Flowers.

As far as quarterback-specific skills, Flowers has worked on one thing in particular.

“Most critics say I can’t throw to my left, so I’m showing people now that can I can do it with accuracy. A lot of people say that I try to always run, but I try to make everyone look good, not just myself.”

The athletic QB’s recruitment recently took a big jump when Alabama offered.

“I just got Alabama not too long ago. Clemson is interested in me. Illinois gave me an offer too.”

What were his thoughts on that ‘Bama offer?

“As a young man and student-athlete, I was very excited about the Alabama offer because they’ve won a lot of championships and that town is really into football. My coach from 7-on-7 called me and told me I had the offer. They said they like me at quarterback, but they say they wanna see me work at reveiver too.”

Prior to signing day, the hometown Miami Hurricanes were the favorite for Flowers. Recent developments have led the Jackson star to reconsider, though.

“Miami came to the school and they talked to me for a little bit and they wasn’t saying much about me playing quarterback. They were talking about receiver or free safety like some of the other schools so I feel like that’s not a place I will be going and they’re not on my mind until maybe later on down the line when I look at everything.”

**Flowers says his top 3 is Alabama, Marshall, and USF.

"We like you at quarterback but we also want to see you at receiver" means "we don't like you at quarterback."

Anyway, if this kid is dead set on playing QB, then let him go elsewhere. Would love him at safety though. Great athelete, great football player.

The funny thing is they want him at receiver and he swears he's only going to play qb but they're in his top 3? Just say that depending on the school I will be willing to switch

-dude is going to be a beast
-miami fans are going t wonder why we didnt bring him in as a QB
-denard robinson 2.0
-i would trade him for alin (without a thought)
-we get scrambling QBs every year why dont we take a chance at one?

If he wants to play QB let him go to Marshall then. No way he sees QB time a top level program. It's a shame a lot of these kids can't see how their only future in the NFL is playing a skill position not QB, it just puts them behind the eightball and they lose major money.

If he's Denard 2.0 then he can't throw

im talking athleticism and play making. QB is one of the hardest to project to the next level i just would like to see flowers at QB with yearby behind him lane and dixon split wide and a monster oline that makes them all look good

at least UM isnt lying to him like Bama, **** these3 kids r gullable az ****.

Yeah, I like Flowers too but there's a reason that it's rare to see a small qb succeed and the ones who do are superstars. I see it like this small qb has to be special as a leader, in the film room, a special passer on the run, a great arm and they have to master the position at their size like a Russell Wilson and Drew Brees and that is the hardest thing for a coach to see in a prospect so you rarely will see them take the chance on guys like Winky

Denard didn't accomplish a **** thing except put up big numbers on bad teams.

Will he play QB at BAMA?

Not a chance in ****. Telling him what he wants to hear like the 5 rb's they got last year. Hope he goes to USF and blows up. Dudes a baller, but when you list Bama and Marshall, they cancel each other out. Leaving Daaa Bull****z!
