University of Miami men’s basketball coach Jai Lucas announced the signing of transfer Malik Reneau Monday afternoon.
A 6-foot-9, 232-pound power forward from Miami, Fla., Reneau is the No. 31 player in the transfer portal per 247Sports and the fifth-ranked power forward.
“We are very excited that Malik is coming back home to Miami to finish his college career at The U,” Lucas said. “Malik is someone who has played in and won big games for a big-time blue blood program these last three years. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Miami basketball program.”
Reneau spent the past three seasons at the University of Indiana, averaging 11.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, while shooting 56 percent from the field.
In 2024-25, Reneau started 19 of 26 games played, totaling 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest, good for first and second on the team, respectively. The forward totaled 19 double-digit scoring games as a junior and eclipsed the 20-point mark on three occasions.
A two-time All-Big Ten Team Honorable Mention honoree, Reneau totaled 1,013 points and 437 rebounds in his 85 games played at Indiana.
Reneau was a consensus top-40 player coming out of high school in 2022 – No. 22 per ESPN, No. 25 per Rivals and No. 38 per 247Sports – and helped lead Montverde (Fla.) Academy to back-to-back GEICO High School national championships.
As a senior in high school, Reneau averaged 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds, earning MaxPreps All-American Honorable Mention status.
