Miami Guard Divine Ugochukwu Plans To Enters Portal; Keeping Miami As A Option

On the same day Indiana transfer Malik Reneau announced he was coming to Miami, freshman G Divine Ugochukwu jumped in the Portal.

During his one season with the Miami program, he averaged 5.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists for the Hurricanes in the 2024-25 season.

After graduating from Clements High School in Sugar Land, TX, he was rated a three-star prospect for the 2024 cycle by 247Sports.

Ugochukwu has indicated he will consider a return to Miami.

Scrap the list. It sucks these last two years having completely revamped rosters again. Lucas is starting from behind the 8 ball and instead of a quick turnaround like we've seen with other coaches (Kelsey & Pope), granted both of these coaches had prior experience and are now at high tier basketball blue bloods. I dont think we should look for a quick fix and try to woo these freshman back if they decide to stay awesome I would love to see divine, bethea, or shwartz to comeback and build the program but if Lucas wants to bring in his own players let him.

Obviously he has the Big Blue Machine behind him, but Pope had to do exactly what Lucas needs to do now.
