Even though the 2024-25 college basketball season isn't over, the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff is already diving into the transfer portal.
This week, the Hurricanes' coaches reached out to several recruits, including Western Michigan guard transfer Markhi Strickland and North Florida guard Jasai Miles.

Strickland, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound guard from Western Michigan who averaged 11.3 points and 3.9 rebounds during the 2024-25 season, announced on Twitter that Miami head coach Jai Lucas contacted him on Wednesday, while also drawing interest from schools like Missouri, Washington, Utah State, Baylor, FAU, and New Mexico. Strickland, had a field goal percentage of 47.9% and a three-point shooting percentage of 25.0%.
Jasai, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound guard, made a significant impact this season by starting all 32 games for the Ospreys and averaging 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds while showcasing shooting percentages of 42.5% from the field and 33.5% from three-point range, attracting interest from numerous schools including Michigan, St. John’s, and FSU, among others.
Trey Green
Green, a 6-foot-0, 168-pound guard, averaged 5.0 points and 0.9 rebounds. He played in 9 games for Xavier as a sophomore in 2024-25. Green then step away from Xavier due to health issues. Schools like SMU, TCU, Creighton, and others have already made contact with Trey Green. The former four-star guard out of Napa, CA shot 40% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range.

Dante Allen, a shooting guard in the class of 2025, will officially visit Miami in Coral Gables on April 12, he told CanesInSight earlier on this week. He’s averaging 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game at Montverde Academy, shooting 48 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range this season.
