Announcements have been issued for nearly a week, and now the transfer portal is officially open. It will remain open until April 22, giving players 30 days to inform their current schools of their intention to leave. After that, they can take as much time as they need to commit to a new school of their choice.

As of now, four of Miami’s scholarship players have announced their intention to enter the transfer portal. More players are expected; Jai estimated that there could be 13 new additions to the squad next season.

Players such as Paul Djobet, Jalil Bethea, Kiree Huie, and Austin Swartz entered the transfer portal from Miami.

In the past two days, I've gathered a list of transfer portal targets that the Hurricanes coaching staff has contacted since Jai Lucas became head coach at Miami.

Let's dive in.

Chase Forte

Chase Forte, a transfer from South Dakota, has been in touch with Miami's new coaching staff since entering the transfer portal, as he shared with Sam Kayser on Twitter. Ranked as the No. 27 overall transfer in the 247 Sports Transfer Rankings, Forte averaged 17.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per game during the 2024-25 season, starting all 33 games. He shot 47.1% from the field and 32.3% from three-point

Adante' Holiman

Miami has reached out to Georgia Southern's Adante' Holiman. The 6-foot, 175-pound point guard averaged 16.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.2 blocks in 25 games. He had a shooting percentage of 41.8% from the field and 38.6% from the three-point range.

Malik Reneau

Reneau entered the transfer portal on March 18 after three seasons with Indiana, where he averaged 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in his junior year, shooting 55.2% from the field. He scored in double figures 19 times on a team that won 19 games. While in high school, he played for Nightrydas Elite, with Andrew Moran, who is expected to join the Canes staff soon.

Zarique Nutter

Nutter, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound combo guard, averaged 14.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 29 games during his senior season. He started 13 games and played an average of 26.6 minutes. Miami's coaching staff reached out to him recently, and he's also received interest from St John's, Texas, Georgia, UCLA, TCU, Washington State, Ole Miss, Richmond, Virginia Tech, and USC. According to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings, he is ranked as the No. 29 overall prospect and the No. 2 combo guard.

Would’ve jumped at the opportunity to stay home coming out of high school. Not sure where he’s at now in his thinking process but I’m sure there’s mutual interest there

Let’s cut the BS. Miami has the inside track. It’s home for Malik and they’ll have his former aau coach on staff. Also, let’s not forget Erik Pastrana (UM new asst coach) had him committed to uf at one point
He trying to make a quick decision?

Miami Country Day is producing D-I players these days? When I was in high school I don't think they had a kid over 5-8 on campus.

If we land Reneau I'd be interested to see who compliments him at the 5

Miami Country Day has done a good job over the last few years. Funny enough, Jasai also played in the same AAU program as Stanton-McCray and Djobet.

Girls team is one of the best in the nation.

They have a few D1 guys floating around. Trey Wilson from The Mount went to Country Day as well. Have a few more playing at lowest level D1.
