Miami and Jai Lucas welcomed their first addition from the 2025-26 transfer portal as Indiana's Malik Reneau, a forward, chose to represent his hometown.
The previous four-star recruit only checked out USC and Miami. Just a few days after his trip to USC, the 6-foot-9, 210-pound center from Miami, FL chose to don the orange and green colors as a Hurricane.
Malik played in 26 games for the Hoosiers, starting in 19 of them. He averaged 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in about 23.2 minutes per game. As a former top-50 recruit from high school, this four-star player has one year of eligibility left at Miami. A high-ceiling pickup for Lucas and his staff.
Miami is keeping an eye on several other players in the portal, and one name to watch is Pittsburgh guard Jaland Lowe, who just entered the portal yesterday afternoon with a "do not contact" label attached to him.
During the 2024-25 season, he averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game while also playing 35.4 minutes grabbing 4.2 rebounds and shooting 37.7% overall, 26.8% from three, and 88.3% from the free-throw line over 30 games.
GONE (GRADUATED/NBA DRAFT): Matthew Cleveland, Brandon Johnson, Lynn Kidd
TRANSFER PORTAL: Austin Swartz, Kiree Huie, Jalil Bethea (Chance to come back), Paul Djobet, Jalen Blackmon, Isaiah Johnson-Arigu, Divine Ugochukwu, Nijel Pack
