Mario Cristobal’s past performances against FCS foes can give us a little preview of what might happen when the Hurricanes host the Rattlers at 6 pm EST on ACC+/ESPN+. A summary of those matchups is below:

Oregon

  • 2017: Oregon 77, Southern Utah, 21
  • 2018: Oregon, 62 Portland State, 14
  • 2019: Oregon, 35 Montana, 3
  • 2021: Oregon, 48 Stony Brook 7

Miami

  • 2022: Miami, 70, Bethune Cookman 13
  • 2023: Miami, 48 Bethune Cookman, 7

Mario Cristobal is 2-4 against the spread in six meetings against FCS opponents

FAMU will bring the fight to the Hurricanes. Will the Canes be on their game in week two against an FCS foe? We’ll find out Saturday night at the Rock.

He wasn’t HC in 2017 right?

2-4 ATS in those 6 games which tells me he goes into them and takes them seriously (no close calls) but he calls the dogs off so won’t catch me betting on Miami covering

I consider MTSU FCS level and look how that turned out...

With that said, different roster and time, Canes Nation must look forward...

Would be great to get them on sched and beat them by 60 to help exorcise that demon though...

I'm betting FAMU does better than the gator in Total Yard differential AND that Mario digs Florida for it in the press conference. He can manufacturer that by limiting snaps to the starters early.

Yeah I expect the trend to continue. No need to pull a Deon and struggle.

How do you watch ACCN extra on TV?

If you have a provider, as I do Comcast, and a package that contains ACCN, you can go to watch espn/streams and sign in with your provider login. Younger fans will provide you with additional alternatives. I have Xfinity stream which works nationwide but when I was visting my daughter in LA, I live near Philly, I was unable to watch the Phillies games on local channel because of contractual reasons.

I want to see guys like Mooyoung out there. No need to risk our starters and depth once the game is safely put away.
