Miami running back commit Lorenzo Lingard took his official visit to Coral Gables this weekend along with 18 other commitments. He recapped the trip with CanesInSight.
“We all got a sense to see how we interact with each other on a daily basis and basically how we cooperate day-to-day,” Lingard said. “Nothing was foreign to us as far as names or athletes and the players made it feel like a family all weekend.”
The indoor practice facility construction also seemed to make progress this weekend, which was definitely noticed by the visitors.

“The major part that caught everyone’s attention was just how fast the indoor facility was getting built. The first day we were on campus, there were like two beams up and then when we left today, it was forming. You could see it from the top deck the of the library and It looked great,” he said.
Lingard actually met fullback commit Realus George as a freshman in high school at a camp and the two have kept in contact ever since. He added that It was good to see him again and he’s excited to run behind him.
Lingard will sign with the Hurricanes this Wednesday, marking the official end of his recruiting process prior to his early enrollment.
“It’s real. It’s something personal because I have a big load on my name, but I’m ready and preparing myself for the mental and physical parts of becoming a Miami Hurricane,” Lingard said.
The five-star running back said he will be entering Miami in January at an explosive 195 pounds.
“Coach Gus (Felder) enforced to us not to worry about weight before we get here because they will put on muscle to get us bigger and faster so he said just to stay conditioned and stay fit,” he said.
“The message for Canes fans is just to sit back and relax and watch the Cane gang.”
