Big time Broward rivalry matchup tonight. Two of the hottest teams in the state are set to do battle. Emotions are high and I expect a great game.

A promising opening drive from Gibbons is cut short due to a fumble. Heritage takes over around the 50.

 

Heritage marches into the red zone but has to settle for a field goal which is blocked. 0-0 halfway through the first quarter.

So many penalties and mistakes early on for Gibbons. They are in 3rd and 33.

 

Vinson Davis and Daryl Porter have impressed me early on for Heritage.

 

Despite 5 false start penalties on the drive, Heritage gets into the end zone and comes away with 7 points. 7-0 Heritage with 10:25 left in the half.

 

Heritage just dropped 11 into coverage on 3rd and 9. Yes, 11. Play ends in a defensive pass interference and a Gibbons first down.

 

Another pass interference call on 4th and 13 gives Gibbons another free first down. They have the ball at the 13.

 

With the ball inside the 5, Palhegyi tries to make something out of nothing and Heritage comes away with an interception. Tough end to a never drive by Gibbons.

 

Douglas Emilian has been quiet but he just caught a pass over the middle and added about 20 yards after the catch. Nice play.

 

A good drive by Heritages ends with yet another blocked field goal. 35 seconds left in the half and Heritage leads 7-0.

 

Gibbons takes a knee to end the half. They trail 7-0 and are lucky they aren’t down by much more.

Oronde Gadsden has been very impressive for Heritage. He is a long receiver with speed and good hands. He also had the only touchdown on the night.
