2014 Plantation (Fla.) ATH Chris Lammons was almost speechless on Monday night when he received an offer from the University of Miami.
“It felt really good, It’s a wonderful feeling because growing up all I watched was Miami, Miami, Miami and so did the parents just Miami, Miami, Miami. It’s like a dream come true to get this offer.”
Lammons was speaking with Defensive Coordinator Mark D’Onofrio when he told him that he has an offer from Miami.
“I called coach D’Onofrio and we were talking and he just surprised me with the offer. First thing that happened was my heart dropped, I was just shocked.”
Now with a Miami offer, Lammons list of schools does not change, as he originally had Miami at the top of his list.
“Miami has always been the top of my schools, actually at the very top of my list of schools.”
The Plantation product does not rule out the possibility of him committing soon.
“Its a possibility, actually a strong possibility I could commit, but I’m going to hold off for now.”
When asked what else he enjoys about the University of Miami, he cited the academic aspect.
“It’s the education. A lot of people get degrees from Miami, even the football players who didn’t make it in the NFL, they still got degrees.”
Lammons has built a special bond with Coach D’onofrio and have built a great relationship over the years.
“He has been recruiting me since my ninth grade season ,I’ve come so far and I appreciate him and thank him.”
Other schools recruiting Lammons include Ole Miss, Indianna, UCF and FSU.
