Just one day after officially visiting Coral Gables with his teammate Marquavius Lewis, Hutchinson Community College outside linebacker Claude George committed to Miami.
At 6-foot-2, 230-pounds George is a beast and a great pass rusher that will get playing time immediately when he steps on campus.
Why did George pull the trigger so quickly and commit?
"I knew that it just felt right. When I got home from the visit and came home and talked to my dad, we both agreed that it was the best place for me so I decided to commit to 'The U'," said George.
Miami left George speechless after his official visit. From the community, to the facilities, to the coaches.
"The setting of Miami is just such a great place to be. I really like where the program is headed. They have a great support system down there as well," said George.
George informed the Miami coaching staff of his commitment by sending the whole staff a group text with a picture of him in a Miami hat throwing up 'The U'. He then later was called by head coach Al Golden.
"Oh, coach Golden was just real fired up man. I could tell by his voice. He is just ready to get me down there to help them win some championships," said George.
Championships. That is exactly George's mission when he steps on Miami's campus come the spring semester.
"I plan on being a leader by playing my part and helping the team win games. I've just got to give it my all. The fans deserve championships so that's what I'm going to help them receive," said George.
The former Louisiana native, will play the fall season at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas and then make the move to Miami for the spring semester in 2015.
"It's so exciting. It's also a blessing because it's always been a dream of mine to play football for a great university.
For his teammate, Marquavius Lewis, he is still uncommitted. What does George have to say about that?
"I will definitely be recruiting him!," said George.
