The pre-season honors continue to roll in for the Canes as two of their best and brightest were named to the prestigious Walter Camp Player of the Year Award watch-list today, UM announced.

Senior defensive back Jaquan Johnson and junior wide receiver Ahmmon Richards both picked up the honor that only 50 of the top athletes in the country received, as Miami was one of just five schools to have more than one athlete selected to the watch-list.

Johnson was actually a semi-finalist for the Walter Camp Award last season, coming off a strong junior year leading the Canes in tackles with 96 and tying for the team lead in interceptions with 4.

Johnson was also selected to the preseason watch-lists for the Thorpe Award (Top DB), the Bednarik Award (Top Defender), and the Nagurski Award as college football's defensive player of the year. Richards was selected to two other watch lists as well: the Maxwell Award, honoring college football's player of the year, and the Biletnikoff Award (Top WR).

We are getting back to where we will have dudes on these lists year in and year out like the glory days. It's enough to get my pants unbuckled.

AR looks like he's a foot taller in that pic
