No idea if anything actually comes of this but this is exactly why you have to give the guy a little while to get on campus, hire a staff and ops group, hit the portal, and see what he can do about recruiting before making any conclusions about the guy as our head coach. There are a lot of definitive takes on this thread that seem to be very premature.
Still think there were better options out there. Hope I’m wrong and he has great success at the U. Time will tell. GO CANES!!!

hopefully the nil budget is very good for him

“Miami is expected to have high NIL for Lucas. Not sure the number yet, but Canes will be extremely competitive”
“I will say this. Several people I’ve talked to privately do not like the hire. They don’t because he does not have ties to the area and has never been a head coach before. I actually like the hire. Duke head coach Jon Scheyer gave Lucas the freedom to help coach the team and let his voice be heard. Scheyer and Calipari showed him the ropes. He will need a killer staff but I think Lucas succeeds in South Beach.”

We've seen guys get TATTOOS for one school, and then they flip to a rival school.

Let's see what happens. Anything is possible.
The word going around down here is new staff will go after Boozers. Not sure how realistic it is though. A coach leaving a program for a new job midway thru the season is unheard of for me, particularly when it’s within the conference. I’d have to imagine part of the deal to let Lucas go now was that he wouldn’t wouldn’t take any prominent players with him. Just my take
