Week 4's GrimeTime Game of the Week was a party at the Wellington Cup, well at least for Palm Beach Central. Palm Beach Central's offense, led by QB Michael Moreland, was explosive all night. They had serious speed on offense and Moreland was just standing back there tossing deep balls and letting his playmakers run under it. Miami commit Bryan Robinson had a big time game with over 100 yards and a pair of TD's. My new favorite player and GrimeTime Player of the Game, Gen'Taris Oliver, created fireworks for PBC all night with 2 punt return TD's and caught a TD. Akeem Dent also made his presence felt at safety with a couple big hits and a big time interception, as he covered half the field to stay on top of a 9 route from the outside receiver. Mark-Antony Richards announced himself early in the first quarter with one of the more eye-popping runs you'll see all year. He took the ball to the outside, stiff armed Dent into the dirt, hurdled the next defender and out ran the defense for 6. That's the play everyone will be talking about, but there was a certain play by Richards that really exudes the kind of player that he is. In the first quarter, Robinson caught a quick screen and jets with the ball down the sideline. As Robinson heads toward the end zone, Richards darts 50 yards down the field to punch the ball out of Robinson's hands, and Wellington recovered the ball. That's the kind of plays that separates him from the pack as one of the more elite recruits in the 2019 class. Ultimately, it just wasn't enough. PBC had too many athletes and Wellington just couldn't keep up. PBC took home the Wellington Cup with a 52-10 win.
For Week 5 I'll be at the St. Thomas vs. Miami Central showdown. Stay tuned.
