Rise and shine, Miami Hurricanes Nation. Time to get the sleep out of your eyes after a day full of College Football yesterday. It’s gameday for Miami basketball inside the Watsco Center.

The Hurricanes are set to take on the Coppin State Eagles, tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on ACC Network Extra or ESPN+. It’ll be the final tune-up ahead of Thursday's game against the Drake Bulldogs.

Coppin State's season began poorly, with a record of 0-5. They struggled, especially after playing against power-five teams like Wake Forest and Virginia. Their leading scorer, Derrius Ward, averages 12.4 points per game.

Coppin State is rated as one of the worst teams in CBB.

According to the KenPom rankings, the Coppin State Eagles are considered one of the worst college basketball teams this season and are rated second from last just in front of Mississippi Valley St.

As for the specifics, our friends at FanDuel list the Wildcats as 32.5-point favorites with the over/under set at 142.5 total points.

Matthew Able, Ben Ahmed signs with Miami on NSD​

Jim Larrañaga announced the signing of Matthew Able and Ben Ahmed to National Letters of Intent Wednesday afternoon. Able and Ahmed are both four-star recruits per the 247Sports Composite ranking.

A 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard from Tampa, Fla., Able checks in as the No. 34 player in the class of 2025 per 247Sports Composite rankings. Rivals, On3 and 247Sports all consider Able a top-40 recruit, while ESPN ranks him as No. 56 overall and the nation’s No. 13 shooting guard.

Able played for Austin Rivers SE Elite on the 3SSB Circuit in 2024, averaging 13.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 steals in 19 games. He shot 44.8 percent from 3-point range and 82.5 percent from the charity stripe in those contests.

A 6-foot-9, 300-pound center from Putnam, Conn., Ahmed is the No. 94 player in the nation per 247Sports Composite rankings and the second-best player out of Connecticut.

During the 2024 3SSB Circuit, Ahmed averaged 9.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.1 percent from the field.

Ahmed helped Putnam Science Academy win the National Prep Championship title in 2022-23 and helped the team to a runner-up finish in 2023-24. Ahmed originally comes from Kaduna State, Nigeria.
