Four-star transfer WR CJ Daniels commits to Miami

The Miami Hurricanes added much needed size and experience to their WR room with the commitment of former Liberty and LSU standout CJ Daniels. The 6’2, 205-pound Atlanta native has compiled 148 catches for 2,434 yards (16.4 YPC) and 21 touchdown catches over his five-year college career.

Daniels exploded in 2023 at Liberty, putting up 1,097 yards and 10 TDs on an outstanding 19.4 yards per catch. He transferred to LSU, where he made 42 catches for 480 yards while battling a heel injury.

“He’s a great leader,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said. “And he’s been a glue guy for us in terms of consistency every single day playing through a more significant injury than maybe people realize. He’s had a pre-existing condition, a heel injury that is almost a dislocation, that I don’t know how he does it.”

“He practices, and we’re careful with his practice during the week to get him to Saturdays. And then on Saturdays, he’s just so consistent. Down the field blocking, he’s one of our best, if not our best, blocker. He’s precise with his route-running. He’s got strong hands at the point of attack.”

Isaiah Horton’s decision to enter the Portal created a huge need for a big-bodied, reliable receiver, which matches Daniels’s profile. He is a physical runner with 734 yards after contact, and he is also tough at the catch point (67% contested-catch percentage). His experience (2,257 career snaps) and winning background (46 career wins) will help a room with talented youngsters like JoJo Trader and Ny Carr.

Daniels chose Miami over Auburn and Ole Miss.

He also dropped 2 or 3 as well & wasn’t the only skill guy on O to get plays called back. It’s always context.

Tbh I just don’t see upping the bag as tho that production couldn’t be replaced. He’s a home grown recruit so I get that part. He was definitely productive. All that is understood. He played with a Heisman finalist as well. So I’m taking into account who he played with at QB. If the SEC is offering him something ridiculous, Miami should move on Don’t even hold against 2 if he goes & gets that $EC bag

X had 2 critical fumbles and so what it happens. No one is perfect. Zay didn’t drop 2 or 3 tds. What games these drops happened in?

He had the drop vs Cuse. The bomb vs USF. Those just off the top. & as you said, **** happens in football.

I’m looking at this **** like the pros man. I’d take #2 back but not at a UGA JY open market price tag coming off being the 3rd leading Guy for 1 szn with ward slinging it. With the way the calendar is setup kids have the leverage.

Bet he had more tds called back then dropped tds passes. That in it self is crazy.
