Mark Richt added a major piece to Miami’s “Storm 18” recruiting class this afternoon as four-star QB Jarren Williams from Central Gwinnett High School announced his commitment to the Hurricanes.
The former Kentucky commit has been Richt’s primary focus at quarterback since the Canes and Art Sitkowski parted ways. Williams rose up the rankings after an incredible senior season. Rivals lists him as their #106 player in the County overall. The 6-3, 210-pound signal caller threw for over 3,000 yards, 28 TDs, and 4 INT this season, and over 500 yards and 10 TDs rushing.
Sources told CanesInSight that Williams has been committed to the Canes since his official visit weekend for the Notre Dame game. Miami is expected to go in-home with him tonight as his decision is now public. He is an early enrollee who will be added to the quarterback mix of Malik Rosier, Evan Shirreffs, N’Kosi Perry, and Cade Weldon.
