The Miami Women’s Basketball program received some MASSIVE news on Sunday.

Miami Women’s Basketball announced that Mya Kone, a transfer from the FIU Panthers, will join the Hurricanes for the 2025-26 season and beyond.

Mya played one year at James Madison before transferring to FIU, where she played for two seasons with the Panthers. Coming out of high school, she was nominated for the 2022 McDonald's All-American Games. She was also a member of the 2020 6A Florida State Champion team. During her high school career, she averaged 8.7 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Mya played in only one game during the 2024-25 season due to a season-ending injury. In that game, she scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. In the 2023-24 season, the 6-foot-2 junior averaged 11.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

This is the first transfer of the 2025-26 cycle for coach Cullop.
