Per sources, Miami DL coach/associate head coach Joe Salave'a will be returning to Arizona-- his alma mater-- as the school’s new defensive line coach.

Good spot for him. Glad he landed on his feet but I and many others called it a bad fit from the jump. Never was a good recruiter.

Glad he had a hand in landing Francis though.

Alma mater or not, UA's football future is a whole lot bleaker than ours next year and for the foreseeable future
 
So will we have 2 DL coaches going forward?

Happy for Salave'a. Am a fan. From what I saw, kids got better under him. Moten only got stronger. The transfer DTs performed better as the season went on. Scott started to show cause at the end of the season and in the bowl. The guys who transferred to SMU all performed well.

Unless someone tells me Joe was the reason for all the stunting even after it stopped working, I am giong to believe the problems with line penetration were more Guidry and possibly JT related than Joe related.

Regardless, whoever is the new DC needs to bring his own guys in. So win/win assuming we don't lose the Poly pipe.
