Dolphins EDGE Jaelan Phillips was ruled out for the season with a knee injury
After rehabbing from a torn Achilles and looking close to 100%, Jaelan Phillips's luck turned again. He suffered a partially torn ACL against the Tennessee Titans and will need to undergo reconstructive surgery. On Wednesday, Phillips shared a message on his Instagram:
“During the game on Monday, I suffered a season-ending knee injury that will require constructive surgery. I believe that our lives are defined by how we handle adversity. In these moments of uncertainty, defeat, and sorrow, it is natural to question your purpose and wonder what is the meaning of this pain,” He said.
Phillips, the first-round pick in the 2021 draft out of the Miami Hurricanes, was entering his third season with the Dolphins this season before he got injured. Last season, he made a notable impact, finishing with 43 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
“The mission is still the mission. I have unfinished business to take care of and I will come out of this trial victorious. Thank you all for your continued support and love. FINS UP”
Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel said he expects Phillips to make a full recovery.
