According to a post by Adam Schefter, former Miami Hurricane and current Dolphins cornerback Artie Burns has reportedly suffered an ACL injury during the Dolphins' training camp.
This marks Burns’ second career ACL tear, coming five years after a similar setback during Bears camp in August 2020.
At Miami, Burns totaled 93 tackles, seven interceptions, and 14 pass breakups over three seasons. His breakout junior year in 2015 included six interceptions, 36 tackles, and five pass deflections.
He declared early for the NFL Draft and was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round, 25th overall, in 2016.
This past season, Burns was with the Seattle Seahawks—his third year with the team—recording four total tackles and three passes defended while playing just 51 snaps on defense and 55 on special teams.
We will wish him well over this offseason.
