3B Daniel Cuvet, one of the best freshman in the nation, has made it official: he will be returning to the Miami Hurricanes.

Cuvet broke Cane HOFer Pat Burrell's freshman HR record with 24 roundtrippers and a robust .351/.429/.736 slash line. He also graded as a plus baserunner while flashing a strong arm at 3B.

Cuvet has two additional years at Miami before his eligible for the MLB Draft. The Canes are being extremely aggressive in the Transfer Portal as they build around their young superstar.

Has there been a delay in NIL spending for baseball as football comes up to speed? Or is the narrative that Miami doesn't care about baseball the reality?

rad hasnt really ever cared about baseball.

Big time… now JD needs to surround him with a team he can lead to Omaha
He will be long gone until we can assemble a team capable to go to try to get to Omaha. At this time, we are bottom of the barrel ACC.

Thank God. Now sell a few older guys looking to put up numbers for 1-2 years that hitting in front or behind this guy will get you paid if you keep working.
I'm hoping that is part of the conversation he had w the coaching staff a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone know if he's friends with/can influence any of the incoming recruiting class highly ranked players (who may be on the fence about the draft)?

I’m looking at our sisters to the north and they look pretty good after a nice year of portal acquisitions…
