Miami has its new DT coach. Damione Lewis, a star on the 2000 Hurricanes and first round pick of the St. Louis Rams, will be joining Miami's staff alongside DE coach Jason Taylor.

Lewis broke into coaching at FIU as the Panthers' Assistant Athletic Director of Football/Player Development. In 2020, Lewis joined Pete Carroll's staff on the Seattle Seahawks as DL/DT coach. This past season, he served as DL coach under Deion Sanders for the Colorado Buffaloes. Lewis made an immediate impact, as the team jumped from 66th to 9th nationally in sack percentage and from 95th to 37th in yards per rush against.

A 46-year-old native of Northeast Texas, Lewis played 141 games in the pros between the Rams, Panthers and Texans.

Does covid year also apply to former graduates? Dual role. 🤔

Colorado seemed like they played tougher on D this year compared to the season before. This is an upgrade to Coach Joe at bare minimum as I only saw him as Poly connection more so than a decent position coach.
