We saw glimpses of Martinez earlier in the season, such as during the games against Louisville and Florida, but his performance today was exceptional. He led the Hurricanes in rushing and, for the first time this season, surpassed 100 yards in a game.

Today, running back Damien Martinez rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while backfield mate Mark Fletcher, Jr. rushed for 71 yards and a score.

Martinez was breaking off tackles and had an impressive run where he found himself in a pile but managed to squeeze out of it and gain 53 yards. You can see the run below:

After today's game, Martinez has totaled for 529 yards. He averaged 10.0 yards per carry, which is the best average he has achieved all season. Also, he made a reception that gained 21 yards.

Martinez seems to be getting things going now. Last week against Louisville, he had 12 carries for 89 yards, which was one of his best rushing games.

The passing game struggled today, so Martinez's strong performance was crucial but not really as Miami was never down in the game today.

FSU was too busy pinning their ears back to sack cam and not let him put up numbers… if we weren’t trying to at least get cam some stats we could have easily doubled those rushing stats
