Miami finishes the non-conference portion of their schedule when they host Cincinnati today at noon.
It's been a pretty rough week to be Canes fan. At this point though that isn't any different from any other week. Between the loss last week and Golden's bizarre excuses in the media I've already mentally checked out for the season. I'm forever grateful to the Flying Spaghetti Monster for hockey season being back so I can still enjoy sports. I thought we'd go 7-5 this year, maybe 8-4. Thing is I had Georgia Tech as one of those wins. Since 1995 Miami has had 4 different coaches, and after today, all 4 will have had a banner flown calling for them to be fired.

What's funny though, is that the 1st coach to have that happen to them, Butch Davis, is the person everyone seems to want to be brought in to replace Golden. He was also the head coach of the Canes the last time Miami played Cincinnati. The circle is now complete.

I expect Duke to have a big day today. Cincinnati's run defense is ranked 123rd out of 128 teams in FBS play, giving up 255 yards per game on the ground.
Last time they met: September 12, 1998: Miami won 38-12

What they're saying:
Gawd...we could end up having a losing record midway through October. We have no business losing to this team with all the injury problems they have. This game shouldn't be close, shouldn't being the operative word. Cincinnati will likely be without their starting QB and their top 2 leading rushers. If you can't beat a mediocre team that is forced to start their 3rd string RB, and their backup QB, then you have no business being involved in the game. Not only that, the Bearcats' defense is bad, like us in 2012 bad. They are ranked 112th or lower in scoring, rushing, and passing defense. They are giving up 561 yards per game, making them the 2nd worst team defense in all of college football. Not only should we win this game, but we should win going away.
Miami Notes
1. Miami hopes they can get back on track with a win against Cincinnati.
2. Some players are sticking up for Dorito and Golden in the media.
3. Golden claims he isn't paying attention to fan negativity.
CanesvilleCane
Cincinnati Notes
1. Tubbs talked about the glory days of Miami when he was an assistant here.
2. QB Gunner Kiel's status is still up in the air.
3. After a bad start, Cincinnati is still focused on becoming bowl eligible.

What they're saying:
Scott said:...This is an opponent the Cats should have a chance against if they are up to that level. What’s to be determined is if Cincinnati is, in fact, up to that level. Injuries are not kind to the Bearcats. Gunner Kiel is up in the air, Hosey Williams is probably out. On a team that is going to have to win shootouts, that’s not great. But, they do play the games for a reason. Both programs can not lose on Saturday. Someone is going over .500 and someone is going under .500. That’s all we know for sure. Let’s see how the squads stack up before taking a guess at who pulls this one off Saturday...
