Cam Ward suggests he will play final game: “I’ve got to get ready for the Pop Tarts Bowl”
On a Sunday evening social media post, Miami star quarterback Cam Ward suggested he will play against Iowa State in the Pop Tarts Bowl.
Ward was having a FaceTime conversation with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is one of his closest friends. During their conversation, Ward mentioned that he needed to watch film for Miami's upcoming bowl game on December 26th.
“I've got to get ready for the Pop Tarts Bowl. You're fixing to see the best thing ever happen in the Pop Tarts Bowl… Them Canes baby.”
Ward teased Sanders about the differences between Miami and Colorado's respective offensive lines:
“I don’t get touched, I've got them trench babies," Ward said. "My trench babies are different than your trench babies (laughs)..”
Ward also made reference to Baker Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes's legendary 1,279 passing yards, 12 TD showdown in 2016:
“Best believe in my last game, we're going to throw that [] ball… You remember Baker Mayfield when he played Pat? I’m trying to have one of those games...I just hope we win.”
Miami has yet to make an official announcement on Cam Ward's status
