CanesInSight caught up with five-star cornerback DJ Pickett’s parents. Pickett attended the Miami vs. FAMU game at Hard Rock Stadium, which the Hurricanes won 56-9.

Tammie Pickett, the mother of DJ, really enjoyed the game yesterday and was happy to see her nephew, freshman DE Booker Pickett, make his first tackle.

“It was amazing, and to see my nephew get in and get his first tackle was simply magical,” Tammie said.

DJ Pickett excels in both track (10.62 100M) and football. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback intends to participate in the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game.

The experienced defender is ranked third in his position for the 2025 class of recruits. Pickett is the highest-rated player in Florida and ranks seventh nationally in the 2025 recruiting season, according to 247Sports.
